Lake Asbury Junior High students celebrate Arbor Day, assist with planting two trees, Apr 25, 2019
Agriculutre/Science teacher Mrs. Lane and students from Lake Asbury Junior High School assisted in planting trees provided by Jon Johnson of the Florida Forestry Service in celebration of Arbor day!
Founded by J Sterling Morton of Nebraska City, Nebraska, National Arbor Day is celebrated every year on the last Friday in April The customary observance is to plant a tree. On the first Arbor Day, April 10, 1872, an estimated one million trees were planted. The Clay Soil and Water Conservation District and Florida Forest Service are proud to have helped sponsor this event!
